So, I've been loving the new Palomino Blackwing 602 pencils, but I ran across an old box of the discontinued Eberhard Faber Blackwings in my home studio. I love the design of this package. Actually, the box wasn't full. There were only three pencils left in there.

Setting The Scene

I am long overdue in posting about this book. It was written by a friend of mine with whom I worked in London in the early 90's. The book is great! Layout artist's everywhere breathed a collective satisfied sigh the day this book came out last fall. The thing I love about it is the fact that it is filled wall to wall with great information. It's not just a coffee table book full of pretty pictures. Fraser is a meticulous researcher and it really shows here. I've been a layout artist in this industry for years and I'm learning things when I read this book. It kind of makes me pine for the old days when I knew a Background Artist was painting from the drawing I did and you could see a direct translation of your work on the screen. Again, it's a great book and well worth the purchase. Amazon has it!
Space Girl Sketches

I'm thinking about another Space Girl, so I've started some quickie sketches. There are some hits and misses here, but that's all part of the search, right?
Just a Sketch

I really should change the name of this blog to The Awful Blogger because I am an awful blogger. How long has it been since my last entry? Well, anyway, here's a sketch to start the ball rolling.
